Hidden among Pir Panjal ranges in the north, the Parvati ranges in the east and the Barabhangal ranges in the west, Kullu Valley is a treasure worth watching. Spiti Valley Trek via Pin Parvati Pass will fill you up with happiness and excitement giving you a blissful escape from your mundane life.

Himachal Pradesh’s main tourist spot Manali, from where all the big trekking destinations begin, lies at Kullu Valley.

Amidst the serene Himalayan Rivers, villages and scenic greenery, this trek is a bucket list for any person who loves mountains. Spiti Valley is called ‘The Middle Land’ as it stands in between the high mountains of Tibet and India. Surrounded by lofty mountains, Spiti valley offers beautiful landscapes, barley fields and little hamlets and a research and culture centre for Buddhists as well.

The breathtaking Pin Parvati pass is the meeting point of Parvati valley on the Kullu side and Pin valley on the Spiti side. This trek which goes through rugged terrains and snow-covered fields offering sights of glaciers, moraines, is one of the challenging treks to cover.

Spiti Valley Trek via Pin Parvati Pass Itinerary

Day 1Drive from Manali– Kasol to Barsheni, trek from Barsheni to Khirganga

  • Take breakfast and from Manali, you will have a 45 minutes drive to Barsheni through Kasol (1539m).  
  • From Barsheni, you will trek for 3- 4 hours to the beautiful valley of Khirganga which is at the height of 2707 m. This trek route is surrounded by thick alpine forest and meadows and offers amazing views.
  • The camp will be set up there for the night.

Day 2Trek from Khirganga – Thakur Kuwan

  • The next day trek starts from Khirganga through green meadows to the place called Tunda Bhuj. Granite cliffs and lush prairies will welcome you. 
  • Cross a river through Pulley Bridge to reach Thakur Kuwan (3320m). The trek takes almost 6- 7 hours.
  • Overnight stay and dinner will be arranged at the camp.


Day 3Trek from Thakur Kuwan to Ody Thach

  • Have your early morning breakfast and set out for the day’s trek by crossing a strong river.
  • The rivers are crossed via boulders and sometimes without the help of ropes. 
  • Enjoy the serenity of a 3-4 hour trek by reaching Ody Thach (3600m) and Kullu Eiger peak. 
  • Interact with locals, take dinner and sleep the night at camp.

Day 4Trek from Ody Thach to Mantalai

  • After eating a nutritious breakfast, start trekking along the river and flat terrains.
  • After a short climb, you will visit a small but beautiful temple. The whole 4- 5 hour trek takes us to Mantalai (3930m).
  • At the campsite, take dinner and sleep amidst the small rivulets.

Day 5Relaxation Day at Mantalai

  • Recharge your spirit and acclimatize with the weather to gather energy for the upcoming days.

Day 6Trek from Mantalai – Pin Parvati Base Camp

  • In this 3 hours trek to Pin Parvati base camp (4450m), you will pass through streams and steep terrains and almost missing trails to reach a snowy section where the campsite is set. 
  • This night you may have to sleep in a frozen terrain, but the night’s beauty of the place would be enthralling. Sleep early for a challenging next day.

Day 7Trek from Pin Parvati Base Camp to Pin Parvati Pass (5300m) – Pin Parvati Base Camp (4140m, 8-9 hour trek)

  • Wake up early for a long trek amongst snowy regions and high ascents where you can view panoramic visuals of snow and peaks. 
  • Cross the Pin River and arrive at the campsite to finish the tiring day.

Day 8Trek from Pin Parvati Base Camp – Tiya (3876m) - Mudh (3740m, 7-8 hour trek), Drive from Mudh – Kaza (3800m, 2-hour drive)

  • This day’s trek will involve a smooth and charming trail to Tiya, enriched by Spiti Valley at the backdrop. This picturesque setting is further enhanced by the large grazing land, mountains and Pin River that flows beside the trail.
  • As you move ahead on the trek, you will come across shepherds, grazing animals in the scenic meadows and beside gushing waters of the streams.
  • You can also witness the Mudh Village in all its appealing glory. 
  • Upon reaching Mudh, spend some quality time with the locals in this little hamlet before taking a 2-hour drive off to Kaza. 
  • You will check-in at a hotel in Kaza for the night.

Day 9Drive from Kaza – Manali (8-hour drive)

  • Enjoy a delicious breakfast and head for a car journey to Manali en-route Kunzum Pass and Rohtang Pass.
  •  Say goodbye to the scenic environs of the Himalayas and head to your home safely.

Spiti Valley Trek via Pin Parvati Pass: Booking Confirmation Policy

  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 6 hours of successful booking. Yes, we are fast and we like it that way.
  • In case the preferred slots are unavailable, we will call you for alternate tours or refund you the money in your bank account (if you don’t want to book with us, that’s fine – heartbreaks are difficult but life is not fair 🙁 )

Spiti Valley Trek via Pin Parvati Pass: Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 15 days before the start date of the trip, 0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 7-15 days before the start date of the trip, 0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-7 days before the start date of the trip, 0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website and we are sad to let you go and only wish you will come back to have a great journey with us.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, we will refund you the money to 90%. We can also arrange for alternate arrangements for you, if you still love us, of course.

Spiti Valley Trek via Pin Parvati Pass: Refund Policy

  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 3 business days
  • All applicable refunds will be done in the traveller’s account by original payment mode i.e in your bank account. We don’t believe in refunding your amount and calling it “xyz cash”, we refund you in your bank account using your money wisely!
