The place has never failed to impress its visitors. Kasol is approximately 522 km away from New Delhi. If this blazing heat of the sun is annoying you down the plains, Kasol is an ultimate destination for you to visit and explore the beauty of the place.
But obviously, several questions strike one’s mind before going on a trip like where to stay? How much would it cost? Where to eat? What are all places to visit? Well, sit down and relax because we have answers to all your questions.
Duration and Price
You can’t really have enough of hills. Indeed, they offer you peace which has become so rare in our lifestyles that everyone craves for. But turning on the reality mode, you have to go back and resume your regular routine.
Therefore, a 5days 4nights trip will offer you to discover most of the place. The budget of the same would also be reasonable enough. The trip would cost you about 5000-6000 per person.
Hiring a guide
If it’s going to be your first visit to the place, we recommend hiring a guide for yourself as it would lead to a better discovery of the place. The guide would charge you a sum of not more than 1500-2000 rupees. He would take you to major sightseeing places and will also recommend you the best hotels and restaurants in the region. The guide can be hired anytime between 10 am to 6 pm for eight hours. But well, it’s not mandatory to hire a guide. It is your call whether to hire one or not. Discovering places on your own has the next level of excitement. So it depends on your personal choice.
How to reach Kasol?
You can book a flight to the Bhuntar Airport, which is about 31 km from Kasol. After landing, you can book a cab from the airport to the village.
As there are no direct trains from Delhi to the place, those who would like to travel by rail have to take a train from Delhi to Chandigarh. From Chandigarh, you may either enjoy the journey by road or take another train to Joginder Nagar, which is the nearest railway station.
Since there are no direct buses from Delhi to Kasol, you have to catch a bus from ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Bhuntar bus station. From Bhuntar, you either book a cab or get a bus to Kasol.
Where to stay?
There are several hotels and guest houses in and around the place. But if you haven’t ever stayed in a tent, then go for it. Forest Department Tents are comfortable and nicely maintained and offer prices as low as 150 rupees during the offseason and not more than 300 rupees during the summers. The stay at the camps will provide you with the best morning and evening views of the valley.
