A journey by motorcycle that starts from Manali and takes one to the limpid waters of the Chandra Tal, this 8-day tour is not for the weak-spirited. Bike Tour to Spiti Valley and Lahaul from Manali will fill you up with happiness and excitement giving you a blissful escape from your mundane life. An exhausting but equally exciting journey, it kicks off at the township of Manali- where one can visit the local market, sample the cuisine and bask in the mellow charm of a mountain town.
Following breakfast in the morning the next day, the trip properly commences. Ride to Jispa, have a look at the Baralacha la Pass and take a scheduled break by the banks of the Surajtal Lake.
Return to Jispa and ride later to Kaza, a vivid heritage site with a great deal of cloisters and gompas.
Visit the town of Tabo, a town with Buddhist subtleties which is situated on the banks of stream Spiti. Following this, the journey takes one to Dhankar- a known religious community. The locale also boasts a picturesque lake, which is always worth a visit.
Ride to visit various towns close to Kaza like Kye, Kibber and Gete.
Chandra Tal makes for the last stop- a lake that resides in the heart of the Himalayas. A haven for artists and photographers, it is the perfect place for a breather. Return to Manali, as the bike tour draws to an end.
You will reach Manali in the morning. Upon reaching Manali, spend some quality time to explore and witness the beautiful mountain town. Relax.
Come afternoon, take a walk through the local markets in Manali to get a taste of the culture and history.
You will get a wonderful opportunity to ride on the famous Manali- Leh highway.
You will also get the chance to cross the Rohtang pass.
On the way to Jispa, the stunning Pir Panjal range affords one exemplary views. The total travel time is around 5 hours, while the distance covered is approximately 135 kilometers.
Post breakfast, you will start the ride to the Baralacha La, and have a look at the Surajtal lake. Return to Jispa for an overnight stay.
The total ride time for the day will be somewhere around 8-9 hours.
After breakfast, your ride will start from Jispa to Kaza. It may take somewhere around 4 hours to reach there.
Kaza is popular for its culturally important and significant heritage. The Sakya Tangyud Monastery and Gompas are particularly visit-worthy location.
The city of Tabo is located on the edge of river Spiti. Post arrival in Tabo, the ride to the Dhankar monastery shall begin. It is a serene local spot ideally suited to meditation and reflection.
Ride back to Kaza.
Prepare for a full circle from Kaza to Kye and afterward to Kibbber and Gete. Return to Kaza before the day is over. Kye is 14 kilometres from Kaza. Kete is a further 8 kilometres from Kye, while Gete is 6 more kilometres ahead.
Post lunch, enjoy the local tourists spots and have a well-earned night of rest.
From Kaza, ride to Kunzum La and then to the magnificent Chandra Tal lake. The ride takes over 3 hours, while the trekking duration is also 3 hours.
After the breakfast, you will ride to Manali via Rohtang pass, where the trip reaches its conclusion. The total duration required is 6 hours.
